When the weather in New Zealand gets chilly it’s time to think about taking the kids away for the holidays and heading somewhere warmer. However, don’t be fooled that just because it’s the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast, with their reputation for perpetual sunshine and permanent beach weather, that you’ll be lying outside in a bikini with the kids in the pool. At this time of year it can be a pleasant high of around 19 or 20 degrees, but it can drop as low as 12 or 13 at night. It’s still great for playing on the beach, but it’s not hugely hot!
